Pre-Mobilization Training

Well as of a change late last week, I'm off to the 36ID's Pre-Mobilization Training- Annual Training from Monday the 11th to Friday the 3oth. PMT-AT is out at Camp Swift near Bastrop, TX. I will most likely be sharing a basic billet with one other junior officer and have limited cell phone coverage, and rare internet access if any. We'll be conducting basic soldering task drills, weapons qualifications, training maneuvers, and country orientation training in preparation for our Division Mission in Iraq.

Channing and the kiddo are going to have to fend for themselves for the time being, a decent rehearsal for the actual mobilization; this burden is the one that hits the hardest. Every time someone thanks me for my service; my thoughts go back to my wife, babe in arm, who makes my army service possible. So here's to you babe. If I can update from Camp Swift I will, but my prayers for now are those of sanity for my lady and productive training.

Caleb is between 11 and 12 lbs, 23 inches long and looks bigger everytime I look at him. What a little miracle. A miracle who is very talented at interrupting sleep cycles.

This will also be a nice test drive for my new iPod touch. Got some Audio Books, eBooks, a movie or two and lots of evening time to kill.

Note: I finished a post I had started before Caleb joined us entitled Duty Position. If you're curious about my role in the 36 ID I tried to lay it out in that post. Select 'older entries' until you find it.

S2 Out.
