Four Weeks

One Month Old! Caleb is 8 lbs 12 oz today and is growing like a weed! On average, he's been gaining 2oz a day since our last appointment. He's also taking to our bottle offerings like a champ. Thank you Lord for a healthy growing baby. Our feeding cycles are holding strong at every 2.5 hours, and we introduced his cloth diapering system today, which we hope will negate the emergency we just ran out of diapers runs to HEB.

Caleb flipped over under his own power during his 'tummy time' for the first time yesterday, indicating that his back and neck muscles are developing nicely, that's alot of work for a little guy.

For my birthday, my sweet wife got me the latest iPod Touch, which has been a fantastic addition to my digital arsenal. Our hope is that with it's wireless capabilities, it will allow us to stay a little more connected overseas.

I'm putting in for some leave at the 36 ID, which I hope will allow me to spend some much-needed down time with my lady and son. We have a trip to see Channing's family in the works for the weekend of the 4th, and a trip back out to AZ in planning stages later on next month.

I've been working hard to get ahead of the timeline at work, in preparation for the first drill when our M-day (only drill once a month) soldiers enter our secure training facility for the first time. Someone's gotta do all the coordination and paperwork. The joys of being a Division Special Troops Battalion Staff Officer.

Check out these two media pieces addressing the 36 ID Mission in Iraq. Pretty Cool. It's nice to see that the media report I had to facilitate the security coordination for turned out such sharp looking material. I (or one of my guards) was literally right next to this guy the entire time he was in our training facility.
