Change of Plans

So...yeah...not going home today.

Dr. Richards took another Bilirubin (yellow pigmentation) test and little Caleb was progressing a little higher than he'd like. While he's not currently at risk, he's just a few points below, and so we will soon be sharing Caleb with a Bili Blanket and perhaps UV lights in our room for the next 12 hours. So not today, maybe tomorrow. We'll see.

It will be nice to have the assurance that Caleb is getting all the care he needs to be set off on the glidepath for health and we're letting go of the expectation of homecoming today. Healthy Momma, Healthy Baby is what's foremost on our mind.

  1. Guess this means you three aren't coming over for our weekly "Dinner, Chat, and a Movie" tomorrow! :P
Just so you know, Sveta's family in Russia is browsing through your blog now. They send their best to you, Channing, and Caleb (hmm... I guess that's Калеб in Russian :)

  2. Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you. I pray you will all go home very soon. We had some issues with jaundice when Derek was born. But as I knew with any Schreyer he was going to be a fighter, and all would work out. I am confident you guys will be home soon.. Give Channing a big hug and smile for me. You two will be incredible parents. You are in my prayers. What a beautiful opportunity to hold a child that God gives you and realize how much He loves you.
